This stylish, understated yet very tastefully decorated wooden home literally sits on the sand dunes, surrounded by Cape Town’s indigenous fynbos, with the most magnificent uninterrupted 180 degree views of the beach, mountains and sand dunes.

This is the original classic – a white clapboard beach house sitting on the dunes, often used for photo-shoots for it’s stylish design and breathtaking vistas of the sea, sky, Noordhoek Long Beach and Chapman’s Peak.

With its attractive, cool simplicity it offers a truly comfortable way to get back to basics and enjoy a relaxed home-away-from-home – a peaceful break from the noisy hustle-and-bustle of modern life.

Ideal for a family or group of up to eight people, the tastefully designed interiors lead out to extensive decks and entertaining areas. The house overlooks the Cape Nature Reserve, where horses ride past every morning on their way to exercise on the beach, protected birds nest in the indigenous vegetation, and the African sun can be watched sinking into the sea from the decks and balconies at the end of the day.

The house and pool are surrounded by silver grey hardwood decks, where comfortable loungers and seating make soaking up the sun an all-day pleasure; the two outdoor showers are a welcome way to refresh yourself after walking on the beach, surfing the nearby breaks, riding one of the local horses or simply swimming in the lovely warm pool.

There is a large, peaceful indigenous garden with a path leading directly to the white-sand beach and the surf beyond.

Delicious home cooked breakfasts are only a short stroll away at the local cafe, or for award winning cuisine, fabulous deli food and pastries, or a family pub the local Farm Village is the ideal place.

Decks: The house is designed for indoor and outdoor living, with covered wooden veranda, extensive balau (teak) hardwood decks and comfortably cushioned sitting areas that are completely protected from the Cape summer winds.

There is a swinging wooden bench seat and designer lounge chairs with cushions, and white painted wooden outdoor dining table, benches and chairs.

A lockable garden gate gives access to a private path leading directly through the dunes to the beach.

Pool: 3m x 9m black swimming pool wrapped in balau wooden decking with four sun-loungers, nice swimming temperatures due to the dark pool absorbing more heat from the sun; pool net available on request. There are no pool fences, or railings around the decks.

Outdoor shower: two hot/cold showers on the balau decks enjoying beach and mountain views respectively.

Utility area: stainless steel sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, sink

Double garage: (not available for guest use)

Parking: 2 off-street spaces available; unrestricted street parking.

Services:

Security: Monitored alarm system with emergency response team; outside beams, exterior door contacts, interior sensors and emergency buttons. Alarm may be set when leaving the property or, if wanted, when staying inside (e.g. at night).

Cleaning: house is serviced on three weekdays (not including bank holidays) inclusive in the rates.

Laundry: all bed linen and towels are laundered regularly, personal laundry is not included (but may be negotiated on request directly with the maid and may be subject to extra cost).

Public holidays/weekends: cleaning service may be available on request but must be negotiated directly with the maid or the owner/property manager and will be at additional cost.

Pool and garden: serviced once weekly.

Property manager: English speaking representative (property manager or owner) will be on hand to welcome guests, receive the breakage deposit, hand over keys on arrival & receive them back on departure.
